AI Generated Work
We live in very strange times. Especially as a Freelance content creator, working in the digital space, the landscape is shifting almost on a daily basis, and the momentum towards AI generated content is undeniable nowadays. I could choose to ignore it, and remain strictly hand-made, avoiding all automated systems of creation, or I can attempt to embrace it.
Even choosing to embrace it, I have my own conflicted opinions about AI. It is a very useful tool, even revolutionary, in many creative aspects of life, but there is no denying that it is built on the back of, inspired by, and often replacing, human creativity, and that is difficult to overcome.
Having said that, I have taken time to explore creative AI options, and I can confidently offer a comprehensive set of tools where I have some skill and training to aid in a clients’ output.
Bear in mind that, in such a rapidly evolving landscape, the leading toolset, resources and methodologies might change over time or even become outdated, so don’t take suggestions on this page to be permanent gospel, the information might completely change by the next time I revisit or revise this article and it’s examples.
IMAGE CREATION
My primary experience is in software called Stable Diffusion. The reason I chose this is that it’s one of the few open source, decentralized networks, I can run locally/offline without relying on logging in anywhere and using any online servers. This means that the image generations are hosted locally, not adding training data or images to any online servers. With Stable Diffusion I am able to train models based on people and utilize them in different environments, outfits, and situations that would be difficult, expensive, or time consuming to set up in reality.
Below are a few example of characters that I have trained and used with Stable Diffusion. Please note that these images are not meant to be one-on-one comparisons, it is just a way to visualize and compare the real world images of clients and their digital counterparts.
The following image is a typical training photo set used to generate the virtual characters used.
SOCIAL MEDIA/CONTENT CREATION
For the aspiring content creator/online brand (even Freelancer like myself), there’s that endless algorithm chasing that results with Social Media engagement; it can be daunting and frustrating. As a result of this, I have taken the time to find tools that can aid in the process, and make things easier, such as the Social Media Scheduler like Metricool, and the online tools that help to disseminate content into media friendly bites, such as Deciphr and Opus Clip. These can be powerful weapons to have in order to keep up and maintain a healthy online presence in this increasingly crowded space. Let me help guide you through these toolsets…
AUDIO/MUSIC CREATION
There is a number of tools that can be utilized here, I am able to clone a voice and use it for narration with a company such as Eleven Labs. This is one of the leading companies in voice cloning.
For music creation, one of the leading resources is Suno. A good example of utilizing this type of service is producing background audio for video productions, or original copyright free work for use in YouTube.
VIDEO CREATION
Video Creation is a very progressive and competitive field, and is making great strides. It still lacks a certain cohesive nature, but it is improving all the time.
For suggested tools, I used Runway and Kaiber as my main production sites. They contain multiple tools, such as background removal, character replacement, text to video, and much more. I have used them in many small ways to produce content, one of the examples below is producing surreal music videos for short musical ideas I have made.
